Autopsy Results for Mohbad Expected Soon – Medical Expert Reveals Timeline. Dr. Richard Somiari, Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, has disclosed a tentative timeline for the release of Mohbad’s autopsy findings.
According to the medical expert, the autopsy examination conducted on the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, is projected to conclude within the next three to four weeks.
Dr. Richard Somiari revealed this update while testifying during a coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death, held on Wednesday.
Facing cross-examination by the defense counsel during the proceedings, Dr. Somiari indicated that efforts are underway to expedite the process. Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, triggering a wave of national and international attention and speculation.
The Lagos State Government initiated the coroner’s inquest in response to the controversy surrounding his demise, with proceedings starting on October 13, 2023, at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court.
Addressing the Coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, Dr. Somiari stated: “We anticipate receiving the initial autopsy results within three to four weeks, followed by a verification process to confirm the cause of death.”
He further explained the meticulous approach taken in the investigation, including the exploration of various potential causes, such as poisoning, due to the absence of a clear cause of death.
Dr. Somiari reassured the public regarding the security and integrity of the autopsy samples, emphasizing stringent protocols in place for their handling and transportation, including those sent abroad for analysis.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has denied reports suggesting the rearrest of Afro singer Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, in connection with Mohbad’s passing.
Primeboy, initially apprehended amidst the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death, has been actively cooperating with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) throughout the inquiry, regularly attending scheduled visits.
Contrary to erroneous claims circulated on Tuesday alleging his re-arrest and detention during a Tuesday visit, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, dismissed the reports as false during a statement on Wednesday.
