We Witnessed Magic” – Woman who Bought N35k Washing Machine Shares Her Experience. A Nigerian woman, Francisca Okeke, recounted her frightening experience after purchasing a second-hand washing machine priced at just N35,000. Francisca narrated how the machine unexpectedly began moving on its own after she loaded it with clothes for washing. “In 2021, I decided to buy a washing machine for the house to ease the workload, especially for washing bedspreads and curtains. There’s something about me you might not know—I love bargains, especially second-hand or UK-used items.
“I’ve acquired most of my belongings this way as a single lady. Whenever I saved a little money, I would head to where they sell UK-used items. “I discussed with the seller about a washing machine, and he assured me that as soon as one arrived, he would let me know. A few weeks later, he called me and I hurried to the warehouse. “There was a plethora of electronics, and I chose a Binatone washing machine with a 5kg capacity. The seller quoted N35,000.
“The price seemed too good to be true, so I quickly paid and arranged for transportation to take me and the washing machine home. “I tested it at the warehouse, and it seemed perfect with no apparent issues. When I brought it home to Mama Ify, she was thrilled. A few days later, we decided to use it.
“We loaded the necessary items into the washing machine, turned it on, and went to relax in the living room. Suddenly, we heard banging on the inner corridor door leading to the parlor. “I opened the door to find that our washing machine was knocking against it, having moved from its original position. We turned it off, pushed it back, and turned it on again. Then, something inexplicable happened—the washing machine started moving on its own as if it was walking to Jerusalem.”
