Qatar Rejects Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Request for Investment and Business Meeting with Nigerian President. Qatar has declined Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s request for a business and investment meeting, citing the absence of a legal agreement between the two countries. In a letter addressed to Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatari authorities explained that they are unable to accommodate President Tinubu’s proposed forum on March 2 and 3 due to prior commitments of the Qatari Ministry of Commerce. The letter emphasized the lack of a signed agreement between Qatar and Nigeria regarding Investment Promotion and Protection. Furthermore, Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, will be on official missions abroad during the period of President Tinubu’s planned visit, rendering him unavailable for a meeting.
Additionally, Qatar mentioned hosting its own web summit during the suggested period, leading to a busy schedule for state authorities.
