Ice Water is back: Return of Iced Water as Sachet Water Prices Soar. As the price of sachet water continues to rise amidst inflation, iced water, served in transparent white nylon bags, has resurfaced as a popular alternative. In a park in Ibadan, a woman was captured on video selling two nylon bags of iced water for N50, attracting the attention of onlookers who eagerly recorded the scene on their phones.
This resurgence of iced water comes at a time when a bag containing 20 sachets of water, previously priced at N150, now commands an average of N350, with individual sachets reportedly selling for as high as N50, up from N10.
The affordability of sachet water had rendered the sale of iced water obsolete for years. However, with the recent surge in prices, iced water has made a comeback, offering consumers a more economical option.
