Sunday Igboho Comes Back to Nigeria to Attend His Mother’s Funeral. Sunday Igboho has made a return to Nigeria, as confirmed by his spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, in a statement on Thursday, February 22. Igboho, a prominent figure in the Yoruba Nation movement, is back in the country to attend the burial of his late mother. Koiki shared a video showing Igboho at what appears to be a mortuary. The statement clarified that Igboho is en route to Igboho Town for his mother’s final rites. His mother’s body was reportedly retrieved from a mortuary in Saki Town.
Igboho’s return to Nigeria comes after his absence since 2021, following his being declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS). He was apprehended by security forces in Benin Republic while attempting to flee to Germany, following allegations of arms stockpiling.
After a two-year legal battle in Benin, Igboho announced his freedom to travel to Nigeria and other countries in October 2023.
