Lagos Hit by Floods: Residents Lose Property after Rain, Video. After a brief spell of rain, numerous parts of Lagos witnessed flooding, resulting in residents losing their belongings. This morning, February 20, residents emerged from their homes in various areas of Lagos to find streets inundated with water after just a few hours of rainfall. Localities such as Abule-Egba, Aguda, and Agege were particularly affected by flash flooding. Images and videos circulating from these regions depict vehicles partially submerged in water and inhabitants wading through flooded streets.
The official handle of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) acknowledged the situation, advising Lagos residents to exercise caution and seek alternative routes due to the flash floods caused by the heavy downpour. NEMA, alongside LASEMA, the Fire Service, Police, and other stakeholders, are actively engaged in efforts to evacuate people from high-risk areas.
