Fuel scarcity strikes FCT as NARTO ceases product transportation. Fuel shortages have hit the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a result of a strike by members of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO). Last week, NARTO notified the Federal Government and the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria about its intention to halt operations due to the high cost of business. Consequently, many fuel stations in the FCT were closed due to the lack of petroleum products. The limited number of independent marketers who remained open were selling fuel at prices ranging from N648 to N670 per litre.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) retail outlets that were operational sold fuel at N617 per litre, causing long queues to form.
