Five Kids Die in Fire While Dad Was Christmas Shopping for them. Tragedy struck in Arizona, USA, as a devastating house fire claimed the lives of five children, including four siblings aged 2, 4, 5, and 13, along with an 11-year-old relative. The heart-wrenching incident occurred in Bullhead City, approximately 100 miles south of Las Vegas, just before 17:00 local time on a Saturday evening.

The father of the children had left the residence to embark on Christmas shopping, leaving the kids alone. The fire engulfed the two-storey home, leaving no survivors. The preliminary investigation revealed that the fire originated in the downstairs entranceway, blocking the escape route for the children located in an upstairs bedroom.

According to Bullhead City police, the father reported being away for around 2.5 hours purchasing groceries and Christmas gifts. Frantic neighbors, unaware of the occupants inside, gathered hoses and ladders in an attempt to extinguish the flames as the fire rapidly consumed the house. The intense heat and smoke hindered rescue efforts.

All five victims were discovered in the same upstairs bedroom, suggesting that the fire had ascended the home’s sole staircase, preventing their escape. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation, and the names of the children and their father have not been released.

With no adults present in the home when the fire broke out, the community is grappling with the loss. A vigil is scheduled for December 20 in a local park to remember the young lives lost. Additionally, a GoFundMe account has raised over $14,000 (£11,000) as of Tuesday to assist the grieving families in covering funeral expenses.
