Singer Taylor Swift slams Kim Kardashian in TIME interview, and her ex-husband Kanye.
In a recent TIME interview, Taylor Swift criticized Kim Kardashian, referring to the reality star and her ex-husband Kanye West as ‘trash.’ Swift accused Kardashian of psychologically affecting her and forcing her into hiding during their prolonged feud, which originated when West included vulgar lyrics about Swift in a 2016 song.
The rapper initially claimed Swift approved the reference, but when she denied it, Kardashian released what Swift described as ‘an illegally recorded phone call’ between them. Swift expressed that the fallout felt like ‘a career death,’ leading her to move to a foreign country and avoid leaving her rental house for a year due to fear.
Although Swift didn’t specify her location, it’s widely believed she spent time in London with her then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. She disclosed that she distanced herself from people, struggling with trust, and faced a challenging period emotionally.
Swift’s 2017 album, Reputation, largely addressed this experience, as she feared the backlash would define her negatively. Reflecting on the fragility of fame, she emphasized gratitude and the importance of continually creating art.
While acknowledging that challenges arise, Swift expressed her commitment to responding by staying creative. Despite taking a dig at Kardashian, West, and others who may hinder her success, she concluded, ‘Trash takes itself out every single time,’ emphasizing that actively trying to defeat enemies is futile.
