Mass Wedding Conducted By Kano State Government Yesterday Friday (Photos)
Kano State Government Hosts Grand Matrimonial Ceremony On a Friday (13/11/2023) the Kano State Government orchestrated a massive wedding, joining together 3,600 men and women hailing from all 44 local government areas within the state. The wedding ceremony, officiated with a Fatihah, took place at the Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero’s palace.
The participants predominantly included young men and women, widows, divorcees, and unmarried individuals from various parts of the state. Among the attendees were Governor Abba Yusuf, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of Kwankwasiyya, government officials, and religious leaders. The Emir of Kano was represented by Yusuf Nabahani, the Madakin Kano.
Yusuf expressed the belief that this matrimonial extravaganza underlines the state’s commitment to preserving cultural traditions and fostering social cohesion, while offering couples an unforgettable and cost-effective way to formalize their unions. He also announced that the festivities would continue on Saturday with a traditional feast called “walima” at the Government House, further enhancing the significance and joy of this collective union.
The governor emphasized that the mass wedding initiative not only strengthens the bonds between couples but also demonstrates the state government’s dedication to supporting its citizens and celebrating the institution of marriage. He added that the event showcases the deep-rooted values and unity of the people in Kano State and underscores the government’s commitment to preserving traditions while ensuring a prosperous future for its citizens.
