Agege Traders Given 2-Day Deadline to Evacuate Train Tracks: Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Decisive Move (Watch Video)
“Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has issued a two-day notice to traders in Agege, instructing them to clear the train tracks. This ultimatum comes following the governor’s visit to the Agege Station of the Red Line Rail on September 27.
During his address to the traders conducting business on the train tracks, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that these tracks are intended for transportation, not as a marketplace. He stressed the urgency of the situation, stating that all those selling goods, including chicken, must vacate within two days. The governor explained that the government had invested a significant amount of money in these railway facilities and couldn’t allow them to go unused.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also highlighted the safety concerns, as the trains are scheduled to pass through the area every 10 minutes once operational. He urged the traders to comply to avoid any accidents and emphasized his commitment to enforcing this directive, even by blocking access to the market.”
