Ondo Governor Akeredolu Returns Home After Three-Month Medical Trip Abroad
One of a Nigeria Government in Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has returned to Nigeria after spending three months receiving medical treatment in Germany. Governor Akeredolu commenced his medical leave in June and it was extended indefinitely by the state House of Assembly. During his absence, he adhered to constitutional provisions by transferring his powers to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The governor arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at approximately 3:20 pm on Thursday, September 7, via a private jet. He was then transported directly to his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State. It has been instructed that members of the state Executive Council and prominent party leaders will meet with him at his residence, where he will receive briefings for several weeks before fully resuming his duties.
