Legal Victory: Ioan Gruffudd Secures Child Custody Evaluator in Battle with Ex-Wife Alice Evans (Watch)
Ioan Gruffudd, renowned for his role in Fantastic Four, has emerged victorious in a significant legal showdown against his former spouse, Alice Evans. The two have been entangled in a contentious custody dispute over their two young daughters, Ella (13) and Elsie (9).
A Los Angeles judge has granted the Welsh actor’s plea for the appointment of a child psychiatrist to mediate the increasingly hostile clashes between the estranged couple concerning their children. Alice Evans, aged 55, had vehemently opposed the idea of a ‘child custody evaluator,’ asserting its unnecessary nature. She challenged Ioan Gruffudd, 49, by claiming that he hadn’t contacted or seen their daughters for nearly three months and dismissed his allegations of her ‘abuse’ causing ‘serious emotional harm.’
Following a hearing, LA Superior Court Judge Josh Freeman Stinn issued an order in favor of Gruffudd’s request for a child custody evaluator. This ruling arrived subsequent to Gruffudd’s submission of a new 34-page document, where he accused Evans of uttering derogatory remarks towards their daughter Ella and making unsettling statements about a new father.
In response, Gruffudd deemed Evans’ latest remarks against the evaluator and criticisms of him as ‘false or grossly misleading.’ He emphasized that the circumstances with their daughters and his relationship with them are not as Evans depicted.
The situation unfolded after Gruffudd accused Evans of “child abuse” following their 13-year-old daughter Ella’s restraining order. Gruffudd claimed that Evans inflicted emotional harm, undermined him, and prevented their daughters from engaging in therapy.
Gruffudd filed for divorce in March 2021, shortly after Evans claimed on social media that he was leaving her and their daughters. Their tumultuous custody battle underscores the complex challenges of navigating familial relationships in the public eye.
