Harry Kane Completes £100 Million Move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham: A Farewell Message (Watch)
Harry Kane has finalized a £100 million transfer to Bayern Munich on a four-year contract, concluding his historic tenure at Tottenham.
The England captain inked an initial 100 million euros (£86.4 million), with potential additional payments, and could potentially make his first appearance during Saturday’s German Super Cup match against RB Leipzig.
At 30 years of age, Kane departs Premier League Spurs as their all-time leading scorer, tallying 280 goals in 435 appearances.
“I’m absolutely delighted to become part of Bayern, which ranks among the world’s elite clubs. I’ve consistently expressed my desire to challenge myself at the highest echelons of my profession,” Kane remarked.
“The club’s ethos is built on a winning mindset – it’s truly invigorating to be here.”
In a parting message to Tottenham, Kane stated that the timing was right for his departure, while suggesting this might not be a permanent farewell.
He stated, “Leaving the club I’ve dedicated nearly two decades of my life to is bittersweet. From an 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man, the journey has been extraordinary, filled with countless incredible moments and cherished memories.
“And a heartfelt thank you to the Tottenham faithful. Since the beginning of my career, I’ve been one of you, giving my all to make you proud and create lasting moments and memories.
“I felt this was the appropriate juncture to move on. Avoiding lingering uncertainty about my future during the upcoming season was crucial. The focus should be on the new manager and players striving to elevate Tottenham’s position and contend for honors.
“I extend my best wishes to Ange and the team. As a devoted fan now, I’ll be observing eagerly and genuinely hope for the team’s triumphs.
“To all the fans worldwide, each and every Tottenham supporter who has stood by me throughout my voyage, this is for you. My family and I will forever cherish these experiences. Our shared moments will forever be etched in our hearts. Thank you. I’ll be following the season closely.”
“Best of luck to Tottenham and the entire club. This isn’t farewell, as the future is uncertain. Thank you, and until we meet again.”
