A twitter user Lavish Spending: A 24-Year-Old’s $40k Beyoncé Ticket Purchase Sparks Discussion (Watch)
A Twitter user shared a story about a 24-year-old guy who used a $40k inheritance from his late grandfather to buy Beyoncé tickets for himself and his girlfriend. The man, despite earning minimum wage, residing with his mother, and lacking a car, made this extravagant purchase. He revealed to the user that he hadn’t informed his mother about the money he spent and had no intentions of doing so.
The tweet read:
“An individual I encountered at the barbershop today recounted spending $40k on Beyoncé tickets for himself and his girlfriend. He even showed me the tickets and the receipt on his phone. Despite having a modest income, living with his mom, and lacking a car, he was able to make this expenditure due to a recent inheritance from his late grandfather. He’s 24 years old, while his girlfriend is 21, and they’ve been together for less than a year. Let’s keep this guy in our thoughts.
The reason behind this substantial expense was that his girlfriend’s sole wish was to attend Beyoncé’s concert. She told him he needn’t buy her any birthday, Christmas, or Valentine’s gifts, as long as she got Beyoncé tickets. She even expressed contentment with just a solo ticket. However, he purchased tickets for both of them because he wanted to share the experience with her.
When questioned about his mother’s reaction, he admitted that she is unaware of his purchase, and he has no intentions of revealing it to her. Nevertheless, he recognizes that she’ll eventually find out due to his newfound inheritance, and she’ll inquire about it. Unfortunately, he can’t undo the expenditure.
On a related note, let’s discuss ticket prices. Some tickets for tomorrow’s ATL show are priced around $15k each. If you buy two, including fees and taxes, it amounts to roughly $40k. Understand that $20k for a Beyoncé ticket is indeed a legitimate price. A mere two minutes of research will verify this. Remember, just because you wouldn’t buy them doesn’t mean others won’t.”
