Victory Gbakara emerged as the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 8, beating Precious Mac in a fiercely contested finale with 33 million votes. Victory, a 25-year-old lawyer and singer from Delta State, won a grand prize that includes N35 million cash, a brand-new SUV, a Bigi branded refrigerator, a year’s supply of Bigi soft drinks, a recording label, a DStv Explora with a 12-month premium subscription, and a weekend getaway for four fans to Cape Town, South Africa.
The judges, D’banj, Simi, and Obi Asika, praised Victory’s electrifying performances that led him to be crowned the Idol for Season 8. He plans to use the prize to further his musical career and make the country proud.
