Son of rapper Gillie Da Kid, 25, slain in Philadelphia triple shooting
Tragedy struck in Philadelphia on the evening of July 20, as a triple shooting claimed the life of YNG Cheese, a 25-year-old local rapper and the son of renowned American rapper and podcast host Gillie Da Kid, whose real name is Nasir Fard.
The incident took place on the 5800 block of Mascher Street, prompting a response from the authorities who arrived at 8:24pm. A 25-year-old man, later confirmed to be YNG Cheese, was shot in the back and rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries at 8:39pm.
In addition to YNG Cheese, two other victims were affected by the shooting. A 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were also wounded and transported to the hospital. Fortunately, they are in stable condition.
While the police have not officially disclosed the identity of the deceased, a close source to the family confirmed to NBC10 that the victim was indeed YNG Cheese. Gillie Da Kid, well-known in Philly’s underground hip-hop scene and a former member of the local hip-hop group Major Figgas, lost his son in this devastating event.
Rapper Wallo267, whose real name is Wallace Peeples, took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news and pay tribute to YNG Cheese with a series of pictures. In his emotional post, he expressed his love for his “Lil Cuz” and offered his support to Gillie Da Kid during this difficult time.
