In China, six kindergarteners were caught stabbing each other.
Tragedy struck in southern China as a brutal stabbing incident claimed the lives of six individuals, including three innocent children, while leaving one person injured. The horrifying attack unfolded at a kindergarten in Lianjiang, located in Guangdong province, on the fateful day of July 10.
According to a spokesperson from the city government, the victims encompassed a teacher, two parents, and three students. The local authorities swiftly apprehended a suspect, a 25-year-old man named Wu, just 20 minutes after the assault occurred at 7:40 am local time (23:40 GMT on the previous day).
Chinese social media platform Weibo reported that law enforcement categorized the case as “intentional assault.” Despite the government’s concerted efforts to enhance security, China has sadly witnessed several instances of stabbing attacks within educational institutions.
Tragically, in August of the prior year, a similar attack claimed three lives in southern Jiangxi province, specifically targeting a nursery school. Additionally, in April 2021, a knife-wielding individual entered a kindergarten in southern China, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to 16 others.
Notably, in June of the previous year, a primary school in southern China faced an appalling incident where a knife-wielding assailant wounded 37 students and two adults. Another distressing event occurred in November 2019, when a man scaled a kindergarten wall in southwest Yunnan province and unleashed a corrosive liquid, causing injuries to 51 individuals, predominantly students.
