Police seize a cow intended for Osun’s “Cult Day” celebration (Watch Video)
The anti-cultism unit of the Osun State Police Command has apprehended a cow believed to be intended for the Cultists Day celebration on July 7th in Osogbo.
According to reports, residents of the Egbatedo area of Osogbo alerted the police when they noticed cult members gathering from various parts of the state for the annual celebration on Friday.
Upon sighting the police, the suspects fled, abandoning the cow. The cow, inscribed with the word “Oroki” and marked with an axe symbol, was subsequently confiscated by the police team.
SP Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the incident, stating that intelligence had revealed plans by a particular cult to hold the 7/7 festival. As a result, the Commissioner of Police ordered operatives to prevent the cultists’ plans from materializing.
Opalola reassured the public that the command is committed to maintaining the safety of the state, emphasizing that the police will continue to work diligently to ensure the security of the people.
