Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have conducted successful interdiction operations in Lagos, Adamawa, Osun, and Ogun, resulting in the seizure of a total of 4,560 kilograms of skunk. Additionally, the agency has arrested four individuals involved in a drug syndicate, including two church officials, a female staff member of a courier company, and another lady, who were trafficking the dangerous opioid, fentanyl, in Delta.
The NDLEA’s efforts to combat the fentanyl cartel operating from Warri, Delta state, led to the arrest of two officials from Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries. Adewale Abayomi Ayeni, aged 39, and Ebipakebina Appeal, aged 41, were apprehended in connection with intercepted consignments of the illicit drug. Ayeni is involved in managing the prayer call center of the church, while Ebipakebina is responsible for coordinating the transportation of international guests from the airport to the church.
During the investigation of the intercepted shipments in Warri, two female accomplices were also arrested. Naomi David, aged 28, works as a staff member at United Parcel Services (UPS), and Stacy Njideka, also known as Nkiruka, aged 27, is a business associate of Ayeni. The arrests were made as part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle the drug trafficking network and prevent the circulation of dangerous substances.
